Logistical Information:
Session 1: Friday 13th June - 9am-400pm
Session 2: Friday 20th June- 9am-400pm
(Lunch break included) – Both sessions are compulsory to attend to gain accreditation.

The Course itself - MHFA
The 14-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course is for any interested adult.
You will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.
This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals

The Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants how to provide initial support to another adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults, how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem and the treatments and supports available.

Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of the common and disabling mental health problems, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.
Depression
Anxiety problems
Psychosis
Substance use problems.
Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
Non-suicidal self-injury (sometimes called deliberate self-harm)
Panic attacks
Traumatic events
Severe effects of drug or alcohol use
Severe psychotic states
Aggressive behaviours -
Anyone over the age of 18 interested can attend. This training is fantastic in supporting colleagues, friends, family and those within our networks.
Please note this course is not a therapy or support group, rather it is an education course to learn how to give help and support to others. Increase your understanding and knowledge for mental health challenges .Participants who complete this training are eligible to complete an online Accreditation Assessment in order to receive a Mental Health First Aider Certificate of Accreditation valid for 3 years

Please note that cancellations made 72 hours after purchase are non-refundable. As these courses are subsidised, a cancellation results in the forfeiture of both the training place and the subsidy allocated for materials, licences, and facilitation costs. In the event of illness, Mindfull Aus will work to transfer you to an alternative training session, but no refund will be issued. We appreciate your understanding.
